In retail, our client noticed a common issue: The uncertainty in perfume shopping

Market research found young adults view fragrances as essential style accessories, but often felt overwhelmed, unsure where to start, and hesitant to seek help.

The plain interface layout was perceived as a linear and overwhelming step-by-step quiz, making the process feel like an uninviting task rather than a fun activity.

Confusion and Non-Inclusivity

Users feel confused and unrepresented by the literal imagery used in the quiz, leading to cognitive load and discouragement from continuing the interaction.

Business Impact

Less Engagement, Less Data

The uninviting interface and confusing imagery result in decreased user engagement, drop-offs, and a loss of valuable data for partner marketing strategies.

Missing Sales Opportunities

The kiosk redirects users to the perfume brand's page and prompts sensitive billing data entry. This causes uncertainty and distrust, resulting in missed sales and hindered partnerships.

Despite purchase constraints (e.g. POS systems), I leveraged QRs and emails for a streamlined journey, also enabling data collection and community building.
